As a child, I knew I was intuitive – I've spent a lot of my life feeling on the outside and looking in. As a kid, my spirit used to try to heal my family, and I internalized that I couldn't – I didn't know it wasn't my job, that it wasn't possible.
As a young adult, I lived between the lines – And when I did what I do, it shook things up and people didn't really like that part, So I would be underutilized, marginalized and eventually leave, feeling broken. Of course, that wasn't me that was broken, but each time, my spirit took a hit.
Over time, I have accumulated an impressive breadth and depth of experience, knowledge, tools, resources and lessons that's impressive even to me if I slow down to think about it.
Finally, about ten years ago, I worked for a .com that became a .bom so they let me go (I was the first because I was the generalist in the company that they couldn't figure out how I made things better, only that I did but they couldn't monetize it so I was a goner with them). That was the pivotal moment for me.
Anyway, I learned that my common thread was to be a convener, conduit and conveyor of "truth" information. I was the one who could call in the knowledge, who could put it together in a way people could understand, and say/share it in a way that was approachable and easier for people to digest.
Ten years ago, I was on spiritual life support – barely making my bills, the incredible shrinking woman at work, being an overachieving workaholic to prove that I was good enough, in a cold and snowy climate. Now, my spiritual life is full and I am happy and I live in a year-round resort.
How did this INSPIRATION change things in your life/biz? I started living from "me".
What are things like for you and your biz NOW? If I could change one thing, I would become more visible in the world. I have the ability that people need to get where they want to go. If more people knew about me, I could help more people.
What inspires you now to do what you do? People. I see people who yearn to do, have, BE more. I can help them. While I can help anybody, really, who feels that calling, I like to work with entrepreneurs. There's something special about them. I like them. And I like business. My vision is a world where everyone is being who they are, aligning everything they do with that, and really contributing to create an extraordinary place for us (and future generations) to live, grow and prosper. I'd like us all to focus on what really matters.
What inspires you to inspire others? Inspiring others is my calling…it's less about my story and more about them, in my mind. I "see" people's true essence… I see their possibilities, potentials and opportunities. I "morph" into their world to understand what they see, ask them to energetically "regurgitate" (in a way), mush around and see what's real, and then hold hands with them to walk to a new way of being (awareness, consciousness, etc.). It's all energy… I help people upgrade their energy. Everything I do is pretty much focused on helping other people to upgrade where they are, how they are expressing, and aligning with their true self. And I bring everything I have to that moment with them at that time. It can be intense. But I try to make it more palatable, and use humor, and baby steps, and love them as we go to make it an easier transition for them. Every day inspires me to be more so I can help more people. www.mycreativecatalyst.com
What was it like for you before My Creative Catalyst evolved into how it is today? (Complete answer here.)
As a child, I knew I was intuitive – I was different and I knew I was special. But other people didn't recognize my specialness, and, in fact, my family didn't recognize it either. I've spent a lot of my life feeling on the outside and looking in. As a kid, my spirit used to try to heal my family, and I internalized that I couldn't – I didn't know it wasn't my job, that it wasn't possible. To this day, I am still willing to take on healing the impossible, only now I do it by inspiring the person who can do it for themselves.
In my childhood, I became the ultimate overachiever to prove that I was good enough, but never felt like I got the approval I was seeking. I was always searching – my mother once asked what I was looking for, and I couldn't tell her. As a young adult, I lived between the lines – I got good jobs and my heart was in the right place, because I really wanted to make "it" better. And when I did what I do, it shook things up and people didn't really like that part, even if they hung in there and discovered a better "after" (sometimes they just couldn't hang). So I would be underutilized, marginalized and eventually leave, feeling broken. Of course, that wasn't me that was broken, but each time, my spirit took a hit.
I compensated by having entrepreneurial ventures on the side… again, I was the changeling in my family. While there was big gusto to do something, there wasn't really understanding of what that meant and always a vague sense of not being enough. My blueprint has been that I'm not enough, so I've always worked really hard on all levels at the same time. I don't show people my resume because it's a resume by weight. And over time, I have accumulated an impressive breadth and depth of experience, knowledge, tools, resources and lessons that's impressive even to me if I slow down to think about it.
Finally, about ten years ago, I worked for a .com that became a .bom so they let me go (I was the first because I was the generalist in the company that they couldn't figure out how I made things better, only that I did but they couldn't monetize it so I was a goner with them). That was the pivotal moment for me – I decided then, after scraping myself up off the couch once again (before it had been from not feeling like I was being appreciated – this time, for being released and feeling on the outside yet again), that I would use that moment to transform my life and do something aligned with who I AM. That was when I discovered feng shui, which led me to re-awakening my intuition, and on to exploring other esoteric tools. My goal was to have tools ready to help someone who couldn't articulate what was wrong – whether it was through cards, dowsing, reading auras, numerology, astrology, face reading… I wanted SOMETHING to help me see the truth for that person. Ultimately, I suppose, I am a truth seeker.
Anyway, I learned that my common thread was to be a convener, conduit and conveyor of "truth" information. I was the one who could call in the knowledge, who could put it together in a way people could understand, and say/share it in a way that was approachable and easier for people to digest. They could "get it" when I said it – I have a gift with how to say difficult things. And not only could I help them understand these bigger picture concepts and personal truths to help them eliminate or resolve blocks, I had the left brain smarts and training to leave them with an action plan that made sense. I could turn energy into form for them in a way that could change their lives. And that's how I know I'm successful – by facilitating positive transformation in and for the people around me.
Ten years ago, I was on spiritual life support – barely making my bills, the incredible shrinking woman at work, being an overachieving workaholic to prove that I was good enough, in a cold and snowy climate. Now, my spiritual life is full and I am happy and I live in a year-round resort. I still struggle with knowing that I am "enough", and know that my experience is what helps me to work so effectively with my clients. I am able to help people heal in powerful ways, and am fortunate enough to be who I am everyday in my work. I trust right timing to help me attract the powerful people I am to work with, and who will help me to be visible so that I can help more people remember and express their essence.
